  What R-Value is on siding and insulation?

  We use FP38 insulation by Greenguard with Rollex Steel and Alside Charter Oak Siding. 3.6 R-value to the sidewalls of the house.  Alside Prodigy vinyl insulation has up to 5.3 R-value.

 What is U-Value and solar heat gain coefficient on glass packs of windows?

  The minimum recognized by Energy and Utilities Companies across the country is .35 in either category to certify as an Energy Star Window.  The lower the number the more energy efficient  All of the brands we use qualify with some lower than .30 which qualifies them for the energy tax credit.

 What about warranties?

 Most of our siding and window products have Lifetime transferable warranties.  The vinyl siding products cover against cracking, splitting, chipping, peeling, and hail.  The steel siding includes all of the above plus rust warranty.  They all have limited fade warranties as well. Some with lifetime fade and chalk warranty to original purchaser. Some windows with lifetime accidental glass breakage warranty to original purchaser.

   My Father, Larry McCauley, started in the siding and window industry in 1964 as an installer. In 1978 he started Central Iowa Builders Incorporated. Since then our company has grown to include three generations of family in the business. We have veteran installers; many of them have worked with us for over twenty years. We combine this quality workmanship with high grade materials to give you finished products that withstand the test of time!
